We are celebrating Jess’s birthday this week! Jess is our talented design intern!

In honor of her birthday, we decided to sit down and ask her a couple of questions to get to know her even better.

Here’s Jess in her own words:

Are you a hunter or a gatherer?

Hunter - Gets the resources.
Gatherer - Works with resources gathered.

I think I’m a gatherer because I love working with new tools to get a task completed efficiently.

Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?

One time in high school, a Film and Moving Image professor told me I looked like Jennifer Grey. I’m not sure how that makes me feel, but she likes to wear stripes too so I guess she’s cool.

How do you recharge when you feel drained?

If I’m not feeling motivated, I go through my list of things-to-do and as soon as one of them seems accomplishable, I immediately do it, even if the deadline is further away than another task. Once I get one of the tasks completed, I have more energy to get the next task on the list done, and so on.

What is the boldest move you made?

Competing in a national competition for logo and advertisement design even though it meant competing against people who were more experienced than I was. I used the competition as a learning experience and as a way to challenge myself, even though I scored too low to move forward to the national competition.

What is your mantra?

Things work out. What I mean by that is as long as you are trying your hardest to work hard, be prepared, and be positive, there is no need to sweat the small things.
